I’m installing a Holley 4150 double pumper on a factory zz4 intake manifold. Will I have any interference issues installing a fuel log type gas line? I don’t want to pull the trigger on the fuel log unless I’m sure it will work.
Thank you
Bob

Thanks for helping out, Don. I plan to use Earls billet fuel log -6AN part 101175. Your suggestion about using a spacer may provide the clearance - if needed. Any further thoughts?

Bob, I have used that same part before.

I would still go with the phenolic carb spacer. The heater hose fitting on the front of the manifold will contact the fuel line. Also, it's always a good thing to keep heat away from the carb.

Thanks to each of you. I will follow your advice and purchase a spacer. I’ll try to remember to send a picture of the new intake, carb and fuel log when it’s all installed.

I’m having some difficulty finding a square 1/2” spacer and wonder if using a 1” instead might cause fuel/air intake issues?
Thanks again.

I would recommend these spacers but the thick one is only 1/4" plus the 2 gaskets in thickness.

The wood/Phenolic one should also work well.

Those heat shields that Bob posted brought back a lot of memories.

In 1985 I was working at the Pontiac dealer...well they had heat soak problems with the computerized Q-jets. After driving a while and then sitting, those Trans-Ams with the 305 motors would buck and surge like nobody's business!

The fix was re-jetting and stacking FOUR of those longer heat shields under the carb. This was directly from the factory rep that visited us. The air cleaner would hit the underhood insulation, but hey! It's what they wanted us to do. I didn't mind because it paid very well. 2.5 hours. LOL
