Anyone keeping up with the Hendrick Motorsports ZL1 Garage 56 entry this year? This kind of racing is not something I typically follow but love to see the door slammer (with no doors) thrashing about with the Hypercars.

The Garage 56 Camaro is still in there Last time I looked. I think that it’s making at least 750 hp so it’s kind of an unfair advantage lol. Most of those Ferraris and Porsches have maybe 200 less hp lol. But it’s fun watching the drivers wiggle out bc there’s no doors!

Its the loudest car on the track. Its in its own class but great to see it biatch slapping the Ferrari and other high $ cars. Chad Kanous is crew chief. Jimmy Johnson is one of the drivers. Hendrick is there also.

Hope it makes it to the end, its raining at night there now so its Russian roulette out on the track with other cars losing control.

Great the pit crew won the time contest, and they use a manual jack.

Yeah the Camaro had driveline problems which took them out for about an hour. Prior to that they were 27th out of 62 cars and out in front of the entire GTE class. The driveline repair put them back to 39th which put them in 10th place of all GTW cars.

Still a outstanding showing for a 1st timer and the Camaro was well received.

Good news for Corvette as the manufacturers team C8R in its last LeMans race finished 1st in GT3.

American ingenuity(y) The fix to the 1966 Lemans problem with Ken Miles GT40 (door wouldn't close at the start and had to pit to hammer it shut)....or was that fiction??lol ...Luved that movie!

I’m impressed that the Garage 56 Camaro finished. I think it was 39th of 42 actual finishers. They had trans/driveline issues late as noted or they would’ve finished higher up. They did have a sort of unfair horsepower advantage with at least 200-250 hp MORE than the typical GTE cars. Garage 56 Camaro weighed around 2960 pounds, the GTE cars have a minimum 2645 to 2866 pounds and typically are pushing 500-600 hp max. Supposedly a regular NASCAR small block will make up to 900 hp N/A but the Garage 56 car was setup closer to 700-750 from what I heard. Probably a good publicity move, but what’s next? Stick a Mustang or Toyota “body” on that chassis and run it next year? Being a big corvette fan I’m anxious to see how the new C8 GT3.R does down the road.
