I recently bought a 68 "project" that wasn't finished. Its badge RS with looks to be correct wiring in trunk for tail lights, reverse lights but the light switch was bad but its a standard light switch with no vacuum ports 8 pin. Local auto parts only had the standard version so I bought it and ordered the correct one. So here's the deal I need help on... the switch never has countunity between the hot terminal and the brown wires that control tail light, running lights. I can jump it out and they come on. I've look at pictures of the rs vs standard switch.. other than the vacuum ports the points appear to be the same. Is the function different and appears the same other than ports? I've tried 3 different standard 8 pin switches all the same. Only have countuninty between 2 sets of points never the brown wires. Pic attached

I just found this pic on chevelle site (go figure). It shows the brown wires gets power from the orange when pulled out in both positions. Looks like orange is wired in fuse with hazards. I will have to check when I get back to shop
