General motors should sue anyone making these and it should also be a felony

It’s a no no to put a VIN tag onto a body that it doesn’t belong to.
its the cowl tag (x11) that doesn’t make sence, not the vin on the dash. The cowl tag and vin are both in the September time frame less than a month apart. If it wasn’t for the x code, no one would be arguing. I say leave it alone or, flatten the x11 out and be done with it. Did I mention how much i love hugger orange. Nice car and best of luck with it.

Old subject but if numbers correct or originality mean something to me then Im not buying a car that has the VIN or Trim tag removed from it period. That just blows the proof right out the window. On my car the fire wall was in good condition but the dash had to be replaced. I cut around the VIN section and spot welded it to the under side of the new dash so that the VIN plate was still attached to a piece of the original dash that was still attached to the car as proof it was there. I also have pictures of the original dash as well. My car is the early NOR trim tag before X codes. They are the easiest cars to build what ever you want out of it and dare people to prove its not. I could have done that but this car has its numbers matching original 327, 350 transmission and axle and only 50k miles so I in good faith kept it what it was a numbers matching RS convertible 327. The world has enough X44 Z28s and X44 big block SS 396s and X44 ZL1s LOL.. If you want to build one into what it really wasnt but its what you want then build it but dont tell people its an original this or that.. I have seen many people pay top dollar for a car thats not real..
