Hi Guys

The fuse on my 69 camaro has no power, the dash & cluster lights are out. I have checked the fuse holder and also removed the fuse panel and check the wiring feeding the terminals and can't see any cuts. I should have power to one side but I don't.

Can anyone tell me where the supply to the fuse comes from, does it come from the lights switch? And if so does anybody have the pin location or any other advise why its not working

Input power to the fuses come to the outboard side of each fuse. The taps in the middle are protected by the fuse assigned to them by the wiring behind the fuse panel. The long black bars are the leads to the individual taps.

This shows the fuse panel from firewall side. The fuse is the wavy line between the 2 terminal points.

Just remember left is right and right is left when trying to compare this to the glass fuse side of the panel.

Power to the dash lights is as follows (for original stock wiring):

12V -> Tail Light Fuse -> Headlight Switch Tail/Parking Light Switch -> Dimmer Rheostat -> Dash Light Fuse -> Dash Light

Make sure Dimmer control in headlight switch is not in the off position. If Dimmer is in off position you will not have power (or have very little power) at the Dash Light fuse. Turn knob all the way up and check power at fuse and the dash lights. Turn knob back and forth and see if you get any dash lights or power at Dash Light fuse. The Dimmer Rheostat can get gummed up and stop working properly. Turning it back and forth may get it make contact at least intermittently.

Do your Tail Lights/Parking lights work? If not check that fuse as well.

Note: Headlight circuit runs through a different electrical path from the Tail Light/Parking Light electrical circuit through the Light Switch. The Headlight circuit runs separately through a circuit breaker inside the switch then out to the Headlight Dimmer Switch on the floor, then out to the Headlights.

Hi Guys
Strange this is I have all headlights, driving lights and side markers working and all fuses are fine except the small one control lamination fuse, where does this get its power from, does it come from head light switch. Would this be feed from the dome courtesy pin on light switch.

Do you have an AIM or service manual?

Instrument lamps fuse gets it power from the headlight switch terminal 2.

You do need to get the wiring diagram for your 69.
.
Get the wiring diagrams out of the shop manual or the Factory Assembly Instruction Manual (AIM), though black and white, they will work. There is a free 69 AIM on HeartBeat City site. You need the AIM to understand how Chevy put together your 69 Camaro.

Factory Assembly Instruction Manuals - 1967, 1968, 1969 Camaro Parts - NOS, Rare, Reproduction Camaro Parts for your Restoration

69-er made up a set of diagrams for the 69 model. You can find his colored diagrams on ebay. $20 bucks or maybe less based on option you get, there will be lots of info to get you going the right way.
