Has anyone had problems with the AMD floor pans? We have had all kinds of problems, and today we put a tram gauge on the floor, and it does not appear to be square. It is throwing off everything.

You usually have to stomp on the tunnel a little to flatten it out a skooch. That should square it up too.

Standing on the tunnel is necessary due to the stamping. It will widen out and square up. I have installed several complete floors from various vendors, they all are the same, you need to make them fit.
You know why they're all the same right? They're all made by one Chinese company and stamped with different brand names. I used to have an example of something I was looking to buy on Amazon. Literally hundreds of pages of the exact same item. Unfortunately I lost the link but it was really telling about the monopolistic system we have moved into. I remember when I was young how we were told we had to fight all these communist backed governments or we'd all have green camo pants. How do you like yours?

Pretty sure they are made in Taiwan…

They are shipped standing on their side. That is what causes the tunnel issue. It's not a stamping issue. The handling and bouncing during transport caused the tunnel to distort. No big deal as others have explained.👍
On the shipping. i have been at NPD when the truck is unloaded. they are flat, stacked on there side or standing up and abused. Nobody cares how they are handled. Piles of damaged sheet metal panels are shipped back, doors, quarters and various other parts are simply abused during shipping and the stamping is just not on the best quality platform for the parts distributors any longer. 15 years ago, they were all junk, thin and poor fitment issues. Stamping is also a major issue for every panel as they get used they loose the sharpness and detail that customers are looking for. Old dies are sold to other competitor's and used for more panels to be stamped at even lower quality. They are all made over seas, too bad the American industry cannot step up and bring the work back to the USA. They are not all made at one stamping plant as stated prior. Please talk to some of the owners of the major distributors and they will confirm this as they are aware of the issues of different manufactures quality issues. The bottom line is that ALL panels need finesse to make fit. If you think that you are going to install any sheet metal out of the box and have it fit perfect you are severely wrong. 5 floor pans from the same box, same company same stamp will all fit differently. The same goes for doors, cowls, trunk lids and so on.

Rick from NPD explained this in detail on this site a few years ago. One point of yours is refected with old NOS vs late stamped NOS. Late fenders I've had were not crisp and defined, and had excessive die draw marks and distortion. Similar quality variations with other NOS body parts.
