I am converting my standard dash to a grab handle dash. I have the black plastic piece that mounts to the dash that the handle attaches to, however I would like to know the following. My interior is 715 Dark Blue standard. Should the plastic backing piece be black or blue and what colour should the grab handle be. I have not seen a picture of a standard blue interior with a grab handle before.

Thanks

I have green deluxe interior and the grab handle is black. I think the one on the dash is always black but I'm happy to be corrected.

Thanks Jennifer I was thinking that was the case. I just want to make sure.

Mike, here's a picture of my 715 interior, which also has the grab handle as part of the Z23 special interior package. Both the handle and the vertically-ribbed backing trim above the glovebox are black. Oh, and seeing as it's a work-in-progress ex-race car, please forgive the ratty interior and funky 1971 pinstriping on the dash pad......

Thanks for the photo Tim. Glad to see you are coming out of the closet finally. I love the pin striping. Love the fact that our cars are twins, so to speak.

PS I shipped my booster to Steve today. Very excited about the work he does. Thanks for posting. I was about to buy a repop disc brake kit. Now I will use more original parts. That's the way I like it!

:D Hardly been hiding it! http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=195678 - it's just that the car's restoration has some pretty strong competition for my time at the moment.....

Great! So does Grandma currently have drum brakes up front?

Hey Tim. Yes Grandma has all drums, all the time. However she had power brakes, power steering, and a 3 speed trans, which is not common on a six banger. Getting a little bit closer all the time. Hunting for parts on a daily basis. When the car goes back in paint, it will give me a few weeks to build up my parts supply, to get ready for assembly.

I think I want to steal your pinstripe design for my car! It looks so awesome!

Hey Tim I just checked out your thread. First time I have seen it. You have a very special car my friend. Z/28 Royalty!
Thanks, although I think most of them saw drag strip duties at some time or another, so each one has a story to tell!
On the subject of your brakes, I have a complete front disk setup off a 69 coupe, everything from the booster, including the rotors, 633 Delco Moraine calipers, backing plates, brackets and even the frame brackets; would love to help you out, but freight to Canada would be a killer.....

Go ahead, copy it! I reckon your painter would have to drop some pretty serious :) to get into the 70's mood to reproduce that though......
