I'm the only one at the local cruise/shows with a true street/strip 1st gen, most are waaay mellow cruiers.

My current plan is to remove all the race stuff (540 BBC,TH400-gear vendor, NOS) from my 72 Monte Carlo and put it back to the LS-6 454 with a OD and sell it. Then put all the fun stuff in the Camaro. I know I'll need to do the usual stuff to make it hook but it will still be a 1000 lbs. lighter than the MC and it runs 7:0"s on motor! Should make a fun car, I just feel kinda guilty about doing it to such an nice car, but I'll do it tastefully! :)

Why would you put such a small motor in it . I understand they build them almost twice that size now days

Yeah, you've got a $110,000 laying around for a 'Sonny's' don't you? You can get them as small as 900 cu.

I say do it too...as said, just put all the original stuff in a safe place.

And you prob will have to make sure the rear and trans are up to the task, otherwise you may be running over something that was once your drivetrain.
