I was looking into putting these on my 67'.Anyone running these?Notice-DRAG radials,I have run regular T/A's before.I was going to buy 235/60/15's,as these should fit on my 67' without clearance problems.Good traction?Excellent?Trying to get traction with my redlines is getting old!

I ran the 235/60-15 drag radials on a 67 Nova. They are better than any street tire I've seen but no comparison to an E.T Street or slicks. They are however very driveable. I currently run the 325/50-15 on a Chevy powered Cobra replica and the 275/50-15's on a 72 Camaro. My opinion is they are much better than a standard street tire. For maximum e.t. though I would run the E.T. streets.

Thanks Jody.
Actually I WAS looking at the E.T. streets and Hoosiers, but I read in the catalogs that the width of the tire on these is 10.5" or larger.I did a search on 67' rear wheel clearances and it seems like 10" is max width without mods or the jacked up 60's look.I have a very stock looking car.If I can run one of these 10.5's I would have alot larger seletion to choose from.

I ran the 235/60/15 's for a while. IMHO they work fine on the track, but are lacking on the street. Still better than a normal radial tire, but not as good as the Hoosier QTP or M/T tires.

I have a set of 235/60/15 drag radials I sometimes use on my 67. They hook very well on my car but it's not that fast, 13.10 @ 108mph. NMCA Factory streeters are running 9's on 275/60/15 drag radials, so you can make them hook good if you work at it. The et streets and hoosiers will hook better but the difference in handling is pretty big. They are made for straight line acceleration only. They are bias ply tires which will make them wander around quite a bit.
I guess it really depends on how you want to drive the car and how much power you are trying to put to the ground.

Thanks for the replies.I'm only running 14.0@96,with no traction. So I am far from overpowered!I hope to get around 13.8 or so with the new tires.

I would use the drag radials. They work best on my car at 15psi. I have very little wheel spin on the street and none on the track. The only traction aid I have is competition engineering slapper bars on the stock mono leaf springs.
Have fun,
Stephen

I run Hoosier quick time pro dots on my 69 and there is plenty of room to spare. They are 26x9x15. I drove on the street with 22psi in them and they were fine. I dropped the pressure down to 19 and tried a foot brake launch and the car realy launched! I was running 2.20's 60' at New england dragway on 255/60/15 BFG's. I cant wait to get to the track I know there will be a huge difference! Ill keep you posted. ERIC

Doug,
Your car shouldn't bog off the line with an auto, especially if you have your converter stall rpm properly matched to the power range of your cam. With 2.73's it aint gonna blast off the line but it shouldn't bog.
