I have a fully restored matching numbers 68 RS that is almost completely original. My question is would I be ruining the car if I made some changes to make it sportier looking? I would keep all the original stuff to be put back in if need be. I'd just like to update the interior to something more comfortable to be driven often. I unlike many others I see with 1st generation Camaro's like to actually drive my car every day as long as the weather permits. I wanted to put some sporty rims and tires on it and update the interior with more comfortable seats and such.

I'd just like some opinions if people think it's a dumb idea or not value wise. I wouldn't be cutting the body or doing anything permanent that can't be undone.

Thanks.

Keep the original stuff tucked away to easily convert back in the event you sell and then do whatever you like. It's your ride.

What he said. The car is yours.. modify it to your liking and if you are worried about the value because it has the numbers matching just keep original items.

Yep it's your car, do what you feel like doing. Personally with my 68 I'd like a smaller steering wheel, a more functional console, and gauges that I can actually read. But until I loose some weight, get my eyes checked or start getting younger, I guess I'll have to live with what I got.
