The easiest way is to put a Lock Right kit in it. You don't have to do any shimming or re-set the backlash for this one. A Eaton posi is very good, but you will have to shim it to set the backlash and bearing preload. DO NOT weld the differential gears or put a mini spool in it. These are very dangerous on the street. You will almost surely break something and crash and hurt someone.

Just kidding, welding is dangerous and mini spools are pretty weak. All they power is transfered through a single pin.

Had a friend that bought a 70 Merc. Grand Marquis with a big block, we welded the spiders in it, did burnouts for a couple months, then were driving around a corner one day, and the inside axle busted, sent us right into the wall. Best damn $200.00 he ever spent for a car, and for a joyride!
