If you really like the car and all in you'll be around $35 the IMHO it's a descent deal.

You'll have a new motor, new posi with gears if your choice and the color and stripes you want.

The car is local, you know the shop to be straight up.

So is this worth a couple Gs. I believe so.

Right now I know of many extremely nice BBC motors for sale from guys looking at LS swaps.

Sort of funny here how everybody says a car posted for WIW always say over priced or it's only worth so much.

Well guys, show us these lesser priced better cars you're always referencing.

I do think the car is about 2k or 3k over priced, but like you said, it's local, so there will be no shipping or no buyers fee from an auction.

I'm also in Canada, there aren't as many cars to choose from up here. There is also the exchange rate, the 26,500 he is asking would be 23,900 in US dollars. Even though it needs some changes to make a more driveable muscle car, I just keep thinking would I pay 34-35k (31,000 US)for that car if it were done already.

On the other side of the coin, if it was worth what he is asking, why isn't it sold? Generally your first offer will be your best one and he said he was offered 25k cash in hand and he turned it down.

In my opinion it would be worth more if it had a 350 engine. A 366 is a low turning, low horse truck motor. It is junk in a Camaro. Just a thought. Think of it as buying a roller with no engine. Not much will interchange with a passenger car big block. Carb, dist, valve covers, oil pan, not a hell of a lot more.

If it had a 350 in it instead of the 366 it would be a steal at 26,500. At 26,500 I have to price in a new motor, PB and a posi costing about 8K total. Is it worth 34-35k ( 31,000 US) when it's all done is the question.

No..... It's a clone. Even if it was a numbers matching certified factory SS (350, posi and PB) at $31,000 US it would have to be pristine.

I would also say no it would not be worth that much. If you are looking at it as an investment which is what it sounds like , you will be under water like others have said. If the car was a full blown resto mod I would say yes, but what you are describing is not the case.

Please show me where up can buy the car you describe for $31K

I would buy this car today for $23.9 usd. Drop a 427 (Mark IV Block with 427 crank, rods and forged pistons with alum heads painted chevy orange) leave the Yenko badging add posi 3.73 rear and flip it for close to $40K in a heartbeat:yes:

Amusing thread.........listening to all the naysayers, oh the irony when you buy a vehicle but its a different story of course when you sell yours.
Have you guys had a quote for a decent paint job these days, or how about the cost to put in floor boards or trunk pans, frame rails. Just ask the brave build project guys who spent countless hours doing it themselves to save huge.

BTW its SOLD! Welcome brethren.
