Please. I am installing a bowtie overdrives EZ TV kit and I was able to get the old cable off albeit tight but now for the life of me I cannot get the "hook" into the new TV cable. It needs two hands and I can two fingers from each hand in the space I have. This is on a 68 camaro. any trick I may be missing? I may drop the exhaust tomorrow and that may give me a little room on the angle I am going in at but there isnt much room period!!

I could really use some help on this PLEASE.

I have tried youtube and google but everything is about adjustment.

Its been awhile since I did mine but I think the best procedure would be to have the carb side disconnected so you can slide the outer part of the cable out of the way as far as possible. Also having the pan off might allow you to hold the internal rod in position. As I recall the pan comes off to replace the spring anyway.

Thanks for the help. I was going to drop the pan to install the spring in the morning. I am not very familiar with transmissions but are you saying I can hold the "hook" from underneath when I drop the pan? That may may help me quite a bit if that's the case.

I know what is supposed to happen but the space that is available is very different from that of a transmission on a bench. Trying to install this on an installed transmission is proving to be very challenging. There just isnt enough room to get it done. I hope dropping the pan will help as you suggested. Tranny shops cant drop a tranny every time they need to replace one of these....

Looking at the pic I don't see why not. I don't recall having any trouble.
