Hi All
Looking for some 427 Big Block Upper Radiator Hose Help.
I have a 4 Core Big Block Radiator, was originally a 350 SB.

I installed the Classic Auto Air Conditioning Compressor on my 69 SS/RS and when I installed the Upper Radiator Hose, it hits the Compressor Pulley.

Does anyone have a Hose Part Number I can get for like a Dayco/ Gates Upper Hose ?

My other 2 options are, go to the Parts house and ask if I can “walk the Walls” with my other Hose or,
buy the “Curved Neck” Radiator Inlet from Heartbeat City and have that Soldered onto my Radiator – A Premade Hose would be great.
Thanks for any help.
Timmy

Can you shorten the hose about 1/2 inch where it connects to the radiator? Might pull it away from the pulley enough to clear it.

Curve neck for that one and the hose to suit
Hi George

What is the Distance from the Back side of the Radiator Tank to the Back surface of the Hose ?

I have 5" from my Tank to the Front of the A/C Compressor Clutch.
My first Pic had too much Flash.

Thanks
Timmy

I like your solution better - it's Cheaper for a new Hose.
I have the Hose Stretched right now.

I do not remember if I trimmed the Thermostat End of the Hose before I installed it.

I would like to keep the GM part # but it's Not a priority.

I will go with what ever works without using one of those (Ugly Flexible Hoses – Sorry if I offend anyone), Not on my Build.

I will get another hose and measure it.

Thanks
Timmy

I had a similar interference problem...used a Gates 20686 (70 Camaro hose)...flexible enough to fit between everything.

I am about as Happy as Steve Martin in “The Jerk” when he got his Name in the Phone Book :hurray:

Wished Classic Auto Air had this answer, I called and I told them I found it hard to believe I was the first person to Install this System onto a BB Camaro.

I had the Return Neck in my Cart on one of the suppliers for like $45.00 + S&H and then have to Remove and go to a Radiator Shop, This hose will be the Perfect Solution.

I love the Networking in this TC Group.

Hi Jeff and All,
Went to Ground Up after work, Perfect fit, I had to cut about 5" off the Thermostat End.

P/N 3790124

A big headache out of the way and a "shout out" to Classic Auto Air in the "Tech Support" Group to pass this on to others.

Thanks for the Help.

Hi Timmy. I just installed the engine up grade kit from classic auto air. I know how you feel about no info. on BB instal. I have a factory BB and if you need help on what length belt to use just let me know. It was kinda tricky getting it on the A/C pulley but it works just fine. Scott

I tried many hoses before I found one that fit perfect. I have a small block but this may work for you. It is a Gates 20686.
