I HAVE 430 HP ENGINES FOR SALE I HAVE TWO OF THEM THERE ARE ONLY 428 OF THESE MADE THEY
HAVE 430 POUNDS OF TORQUE THESE ENGINES
ARE STILL IN CRATE I HAVE #105 AND #106
WILL SELL ONE OR BOTH FOR JUST 12,500 EACH

Unfortunately, he IS talking about the ZZ430. Apparently, a lot of speculators got a hold of a bunch of these engines and think they are plated in gold or something. The last one I saw was priced pretty high too, but $12,500 takes the cake.

Bigdmd, I hope you paid close to GM's asking price for these, because that is all they are worth. I can build the exact same engine for less than half your asking price. Who cares that my version wasn't originally built by GM, very few of us with 67-69 Camaros have our car's original GM built engine anyway.

The only two words I can think of are rip, and off, in that order.

ZZ4 engine with ZZ5 cam made 448 horses with Holley, small tube headers, on Horsepower TV. If they could do it with just a cam change, well, so can anybody, for far less than $12,500.00.

I just really despize people who think they can get away with taking advantage of others.

Let me put my (2)cents in, please. My 496 bb isn't going to run $5,000. But I've done a lot of comparison shopping and I'm going to put it together myself. I'm not going to run it much over 5500 rpm, but hey with all the power I'm expecting out of it, I won't have to for just "cruising". Sounds like alot of money for a small block. Does it come w/ the "SB-2" heads, intake, headers etc.??? I'm really not up on this "part #" engine. Please fill me in on what it's made of. pdq67

I was kidding; I knew what he meant. It's another example of someone taking advantage of a limited availability item. For $12,500 I would expect at least 700+ h.p. in a small block, billet crank and rods, best of everything, etc. built by a big-name engine builder. Eventually someone is going to be ripped-off when everyone else realizes that they're paying 2 1/2 to 3 times what the engine is worth and refuses to buy them anymore at that obsene price.

Heck, there's a guy advertising in Street Rodder magazine for a 450 h.p. 383 for $3695 manifold to pan. ALL new parts including block!(Barrett Engines)

Good luck!!!!!

go to bed!

For those prices nobody in their right mind would use them in a driver! They will find their way into trailer queens or engine stands for display... I beleave the last one (#430) was for sale a few months back on ebay for about what this guy is asking.

JMO but too many people have too much disopsable income these days! And they will pay what ever is asked just to say "look what I have"! Being colectable used to mean something produced in limited numbers might be worth something 10 or 20 years from when it was produced.

bigdmd - Just a polite reminder there is a section for posting "for sale" items. You can link to it from the main page of this site... The idea is to keep adds out of the various forums. It makes researching information before posting questions quicker and easier.

Why do you say there are only 428 of them? Did 2 get trashed? I have a GM flyer stashed away from prior to their release for sale that said "430 limited production ZZ430's making 430hp"

Buddy - I am sure gheatly or someone in the know can provide you more exact info but I beleave a ZZ4 can be made into a ZZ430 clone by changing the heads and cam. If you think about it all you are really paying for is the valve covers on these motors. GM supports them as if folks are running them.. That is all the parts should be available over the counter except the valve covers!!!

Get the spec's and build one for around what GM sold them for to begin with.

This isn't a for sale section, try selling that over priced engine in the appropriate area.

maybe there people are not so rude

God, I hope there aren't any more arrogant sellers like you hanging around here.

For $12,500.00, anyone could buy a nice 502/502 crate engine, trans and actually have something for their money.

And, by posting the engine for sale, you did, in fact, ask all of us, including me, there, high-pockets.

Try E-Bay, there's always a few rich, arrogant buyers with the cash to boast they "got a deal" on something that is way out of line on price to begin with.

Just who do you think you are trying to kid? For the prices you are asking, I'll be rude every day of the week twords you.

Gee, I hope I was civil enough to this fellow. I just don't think I could stand it if he didn't like me any more.
