Hello All

I have 68 Camaro with 10 bolt rear end with multi leaf springs installed onto mono leaf perches on the housing. I'm considering buying the Hotchkis #2407C rear lowering kit, according to Hocthkis their leaf springs will work in either mono or multi perches, and I have multi spring anchor plates installed, however the shock does not sit straight on the bolt on the anchor plate, see attached pic.

Thanks for your help

Is there a question in there? Do you want to know if that is normal or how to fix it?

That looks like the reproduction shock plate. They need to "fixed" with a BFH (big hammer) to get the bolt to sit straighter. Preferably with the plate mounted in a vise and maybe a little heat to make it bend easier.

More info may be in the archives. look for reproduction shock plates

Ok, thanks James and Dennis for your input, and I will try and straighten them out, if I have an issue straightening them, where can I get a good reproduction shock plate that is bent at the correct angle?

Thanks again

If I was closer I'd hit it with my sledge for you.

...I feel the urge to beat something into submission today. I probably shouldn't pull my carb apart this afternoon, eh?

Why not George? It works for me. Helps the economy too.

DSE makes a nicer, thicker and cheaper set than repros, but I don't think they're exact repros . Of course, neither are the ones that don't fit.
