I took this 12 bolt out of a 69 Firebird this weekend. I know the rear is not original to the car. I looked up the casting numbers and it appears to be a 69 Camaro rear, however I don't think I have ever seen a tube stamp number like this in a Camaro. Any help would be great.

CGK would be for 1970 chevrolet full size 2.73 open rear end was probably narrowed down for the bird. I have had several big cars made to fit early F-bodies, Novas ect
when I was having these done I would do it by date codes if was 65-66 dated would made to fit early Novas 67-69 I would have made to fit first gen f-body ext was casting numbers and fill plug sizes varied

Yes, I agree. It's a 1970 axle from a full size (Impala). Casting date looks like April 18, 1970 (D 18 0) and assembly date is April 22 (0422).

Also note there is a C over a little to the left of the GK code (actual code is C GK).

If it is already narrowed and setup for a Firebird or Camaro, it is still a great rear to use in something. It just doesn't have the "numbers".

It is already narrowed and fit very good. It has a 3:73 posi now. It came out of the 69 Firebird I am helping a friend build into a mild pro-touring car. I told him it is still a good rear to use.
