Guys,
I have been attempting to adjust my front window for the past 2 days(and struggled)
Here is what i learned from researching this site:
1. Adjust channels out to go in.
2. Outer guide plates go in before glass
3. Adjustment is a PIA
4. Glass slide in the middle of the door then moved back to get in channel.

Here is my specific problem. I had the glass adjusted almost perfectly...
I forgot the outer guides (the ones that the half balls sit on when closed) when i put them in and put the glass back the half ball on the back hits and wont ride over guide. and the front seems to torque the door. (to tight)
What do I do??????

Make sure the guide plates are mounted correctly. When I first installed mine and installed the screws they interfered with the window going up and down. Took back off and moved them around until they fell into place. They are a PIA to reach and mount.

The plates fall into notches in the door. Some of the repop plates need to be trimmed to fit.

If this is the situation then the plates will stick out further on the bottom and may be the cause of your problem.

The plates also hook on the bottom. so you have to push in down into the door until it hooks the metal strip then pull it up into the notch and put the screws in. If it's not hooked on the bottom it will stick out about 1/2" and you'll have the problem your describing.

Here's a picture that shows how it should be installed. Hooked on the bottom, in the notch and screwed in

hell yea thats what i f'd up .. thanks again guys...
what do the front window stops that go on the track look like???
I cant seem to find them.

btw the metro upper window seal was awesome

I had the same problem, and spent quite a bit of time figuring out the plates need to "hook" on the bottom to sit right, as John said. In my case windowfelts attached to window belts (which were an option on my 68). Pretty straightforward, windowfelt hooks onto window belt. I think the window has to come out to install / replace windowfelts (at least seemed easier to me). Got the windowfelts from MCB.
