Looking for help to price parts (as a package) that came with my 330/350. Parts were removed prior to firing the engine.
Cam, valve springs, rocker arms, push rods, timing chain and gears.
Thanks

The Vortec heads (assembled) are usually bring @$300~500 for the set when sold locally. This is for a good 'used' set, which includes those removed for upgrades with little to no actual use.

The Intakes go for @$100~150 - depends again on condition and accessories included with unit.
The Carb can be bundled with the above to increase price by $50~100 - but buyer may prefer a 'better' carb for his set-up.
Including other installation items can 'sweeten' the deal and bring a higher price from some buyers (but ... not usually me ;) ).

The Cam to me, and many others, is worth about 'Zip' ...
I seldom am interested in a 'used' cam, no matter what the operating hours are represented as - even new.
This is not a particularly efficient grind, and there are many more desirable flat and roller cams I would be using in most builds before I would consider this type a contender.

My recommendation would be to 'bundle' the whole package as a 350/330HP Top End unit 'Complete' - and see if you can't get a decent price for the whole lot. People buying these type of parts are usually looking for a 'deal' ;)
In that case I would ask @$500~650 and see if I get some bites.

As always - JMHO's

I dont think he has all those parts. He just lists "Cam, valve springs, rocker arms, push rods, timing chain and gears." I think you would be lucky to find someone to give you $100 for it.

:clonk: Yup ... looks like you're right ...

For some reason I read that as a top end group vs. just some 'spare' parts.
Agree - you'd be lucky to get $100 out of me for any of that ...

The really scary part is I'm reading through 'Legal' stuff this morning ... wonder what I've missed in that so far

Thanks all for the replies and insights.
I bought the motor plus a lot of other new parts as a package off craig's list and installed a roller cam. The original owner intended it for a S-10.
I may have been better off just buying what I needed/wanted.

I purchased new 862 casting vortec's over the counter they both were warped 5000 with the low spot in the center 2 cylinders. I had GM card parts discount of $250 so they were a deal until I took them to Engine Builder. Then Engine builder went to cc them and water ran right through the valve seats. Builder said that most of them that come through his shop are warped. Needless to say if you buy a crate motor with these Hecho in Mexico Vortecs on it this is what you get. I have a balanced steel crank motor that makes 350 hp and 410 ft lbs for $3700 from him. The $250 I saved went to mill the valve lans for high lift cam relap the valves and mill them. The lesson don't buy crate motors.
