I just installed an OER repro dash in my '69. The dash fit very well. However, it is missing a lot of fine details on the original dash like the pebble grain and the fake stitching along the edges. The dash is good enough for a street rod but I wouldn't use it if you are trying to do a correct restoration.

I bought one from Ricks. It fit better than the older one I got from Year One. They used to sell 2 different ones at Ricks but I think they only have the better one now. One that was cheaper and one that was a bit more but fit better. It was about 1/2" wider and it did work out nicely.

I was at a Mustang parts place the other day and it is amazing how much better their repro dashes are.

The dashes are made just like original - fiberboard/fiberglass backing with foam and molded vinyl covering. I bet it's very difficult to tell an original from a repro. What is even worse is that their repro dashes weren't much more expensive than ours.

I had my original dash re-done. That way I was able to keep the original steel framing. I had it done several years ago, at the time I had heard only terrible things about the repros. I've never seen the repro's, but I think they charged me about 200.00 or so. It was about the same cost as a repro. Since they were only 1 1/2 hour drive away, I didn't even pay shipping. They've got a website, might be a good alternative. www.justdashes.com

The 69 dash is molded plastic. It is not vinyl covered like the 67 and 68. Sorry if I confused anyone with my previous post.
