OK guys, the misses today tells me she would like to drive my new addition (69 vert) sometime. Yeah, I know. So my TKO 600 plans may be changing, again, LOL.
Anyone install the 4L80E ??? Thoughts, doubts, comments????
lolteach her to drive a stick. Everyone should know how.
I was looking at Monster !! LOL, What went wrong John??Stay away from the eBay rebuilders. Monster is the worst. I know from personal experience
My X66 is a BB and has an M20.Donnie: Just noticed your car is an X66 car, so I presume big block. Correct?
If so, it may still be feasible to run a 200R4, but it may need built up, especially if your engine is modified and or you are going to drive it hard. And it will need to be built beyond the "stage I" and "stage II" builds for sale on ebay.
USSHift.com has a very nice set-up for the 4L80E and priced reasonably IMHO.How are you planning on controlling the trans? 4L80E will require a computer and harness to shift. Unless you go manual valve body and shift it by hand every time you need a different gear?
Its been a while since I've priced the controls but they use to be anywhere from $500-1500 for them. Maybe they have come down some?
I was starting to think along these lines as well John.I actually like the idea of an auto in a vert. I just bought a 67 Vert and will be leaving it auto.
As long as you have a real Camaro with a stick to drive too![]()
Then I would look at the 4L60E or a 4L65EI was planning on an LS swap down the road, right now engine has approx 450hp
Curious John, why the 4l60/65 ?? Am I correct in that the 4L60/65 have the low first gear as the 700r4 did ?? ThxThen I would look at the 4L60E or a 4L65E
