I am having a problem with the shields. I purchased them from a local vender in Huntington Beach. Here is my problem the 2 bolts which attached to the bracket are useable however the 3rd bolt which is located on the fender extension is approx. 1" away from the bolt hole. The only 2 items that are not original are the skirts and shields. Both are a major pain in the rear. The extensions fit good to the fender but the shields ether need a small bracket or I may extend the tab where the hole is on the extension. Has anyone else had this problem. It is a 68 SS/RS BB car. Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks Garth I have the OER I will try to enlarge the holes to move the shield and shave a little off the side against the fender extension. What is CHQ, not familiar with the brand. Even if a move the shield it would need to move almost an 1/2 to 1". I could possibly return the OER shields and look around for better ones or may find a pair of good used ones. Thanks again.

CHQ= Classic Headquarters. If you think you can make them work, go for it. The CHQ ones I got needed a little trimming as well. Fortunately the holes weren't that far off though. On this "backburner resto", I kept an eye on ebay for several years, hoping some decent originals would show up:sad:....few and far in between and pretty rough condition.

Here's a couple pics showing a little modification I made. The first shot is w/o the mod. There's a gap in between the shield and the inner fender. I stapled a thin piece of rubber on the top, similar to the a-arm splash shields.:) My driveway is gravel. You wouldn't believe how many small rocks fly up there and collect on the lower fender extension.
