I need to buy a muncie tranny for my 69 Z ....any suggestions on what wont work?? My head is going bald from scratching.....any comments really needed......

Are you looking for an original or aftermarket tranny? I have an autogear M22 if you're interested.
And, no, they aren't all exactly the same. There are different coutnershaft sizes, different input shaft splines, differences in shifter mounting, ??? probably more.

You want a correct for 69 style Muncie. The tailshaft housing and shifter linkage will be a hassle if you do not get the 69 style tranny. 68 is different and 70 is different.
The 68 has a different linkage setup and the 70 has a different tailhousing setup that requires a different driveshaft yoke and has the shifter mount is in the wrong place.
Anthing else can be made to fit in there if you have enough adapters, money, and time.
