transmission cooler flare nut?!

WHAT is the nut called that locks the transmission cooling lines into the transcooler on my radiator????


NO ONE can tell me what its called, and NO ONE in the greater San Diego area carries them! I cant figure out what its called by going through aeroquip's section on summit

HELP PLEASEEEE this is all i need to start my car

I remember them called ferrules.

still no dice guys... maybe this thing just illudes me, but where in the heck do i buy these things ? summit doesnt list them, jegs, cant get them at my local autopart stores...

Is the line flared on the end?

Take a trip to the auto parts store. Pick up a 6 inch length of 5/16 inch OD brake line. Show the counter person the brass nut. Tell him you want one of those..... Inverted flare nut....

do you guys know if there are stainless or anodized aluminum versions of these fittings ?


dont want to deal with gall of perty aluminum radiator

Yes for both. Use plenty of Permatex antiseize.

I work at a transmission shop so if you need anything transmission related-just let me know and I am sure I can get it for you.

Go69, I could REALLY use some stainless or anodized inverted flare nuts for 5/16" tubing,

email me or post here about how i can compensate you for them

These people had everything I needed when I did my custom brake lines. They have just about every fitting imaginable. http://www.godmanhiperformance.com/index.php

Go to the search window on the site and type in inverted flare. They have them. I would even call them and tell them what you are doing so they give you the right stuff.

If you are still needing the nuts, e-mail me at poolstuff@juno.com and I will track them down for you. We stock them-but not in anodized or stainless. All we have on-hand is regular steel. I can check with my supplier to see if they carry them in anodized or stainless if you are still looking for them.
