Well heres the thing I have had my car running for almost a week now and im getting pissed at all the quirks that it has, and due to lack of working wipers I decided to rip apart the interior and wiring this time.

Heres what I have put together so far as for what to do and I am sure i will be missing quite a few things that should be adressed so whatever you guys think I am missing go ahead and chime in.

Repair and or replacing the wiring under the dash getting operational the speedo fuel gauges

taking out the seat and e brake brackets for cleaning and painting

Installing rear seatbelts

Replacing the windsheild (wipers made big gouges in it)

Painting whats left of the interior sheet metal that is still the stock light blue

Installing sound deadener (i think i am gonna go with 100 ft fat mat) where do u guys think i should out it if i am stripping the interior and there is no headliner yet

Installing the headliner

sail pannels and package tray

hopefully getting the engine running right (both the parents are yuppies and my car has more than worn out its welcome at school) so if any local guys could come give me a hand at how to tune a carb (demon) and getting the timing right.

Depending on how much money I can come up with hopefully putting some stereo together, thank god no one has cut the dash.

the entire interior except what was mentioned was already replaced from the origional to a nice looking black interior kit so I am satisfied with all of that

Whatever tips you guys have would be appreciated

As for the wiring, having all new stuff is nice but expensive. If it isn't in too bad of shape, you can brighten the terminals with a few small pieces of 150 grit paper. Then dope the bright metal with dielectric grease. If the wires are dull and ugly, you can clean them up with lighter fluid on a rag (outside of course). You can even buy new vinyl tape without adhesive to rewrap the harness if you need to. Start by pulling it all out so you can lay it on the ground in front of you. Label your connections or take pictures. If you pull the fuse block, be sure to put some new urethane sealer around it before reinstalling it. Pull the instrument cluster out and brighten the contact surfaces on the flexible PC board and dope them lightly with the grease. Keep in mind that bulbs get hot so don't over do it. It will make a ton of difference in the brightness of the dash lamps and cure some grimlens you may not have seen yet.

South of SF haha no luck but i posted a ton of pics of the under dash wiring on page three of my site, damn i love those wires that go nowhere.....

I was looking at ricks and the speedos seem to use a cable that connects to a gear which depends n your rear end gearing, whereas i have a setup for a plug...

Also there is a bunch of surface rust on theese pannels I definatly don't want rust anywhere so any ideas on what should I do about it

What is the part # for the peice of the heater controls thats broken it is pictured, but the others are very stiff so should they be lubed replaced etc...

The dash wiring looks very nice in person aside from the occasional loose wire so I am not going to spend a few hundred dollars replacing it.

The wipers dont work.... I think it may be the switch it looks like there is some kind of connector is broken off and i would start doing tests but we don't even have a testing light.....its a lot harder to rebuild a car when you haveto buy all the parts but all the tools to do so.
