Here is what I emailed to the guy:
"How can you sleep at night selling that camaro for 12k or more when its pretty clear that its not a real RS (no back up lights) and has a $200 paint job and a home made vin plate. There are soooo many issues with that car. Seat belts included but not installed? Did the 4k in floors not come witht he seat belt attachement points. Clearly you are more worried about making money then doing honest buisness. No exhaust and its pretty easy to see that while on the hoist, you sprayed it down with undercoating (as evidence by the overspray on the hoise and driveshaft). Not a good sign when its a private auction either, I feel bad for whoever wins that car."

And here is his reply:
"If you’re not smart enough to realize that this is a no reserve auction than you should stop reading this email here. We did not demand any price for this car, people pay what they want."

Guess what, I am however smart enough to stay clear of your cars! lol

I e-mailed him too and asked him how a buyer was supposed to register and title a car with a fake home-made VIN plate that would be spotted instantly by the DMV, who would then impound the car. He responded that "It must be a state-issued replacement VIN from some previous owner, we certainly wouldn't do that." Yeah, right. :( :clonk:

Great...just great...Im the freakin high bidder! ;) <jk>..I think some is trying to pull the wool over an un-suspecting camaro fan. Takes all types to make the world go round. IMO, this "Frankenstein" should be pulled off Ebay for the whole "fake" VIN tag. Isnt that illeagal?

I don't know about you guys but I really appreciated the history lesson and the vintage pictures, especially the Camaro peeling out on a dirt road. I wonder if the tires were screeching just like they do in the Dukes of Hazzard??

Wow!
I finally looked at the car in that....umm..... I guess it's called an 'auction'?
First thing that popped out immediately were the Firebird seats. Then all the obvious weekend (because that's how long it took them) restoration blunders. I'd be willing to bet that you could pull the tail panel off by hand, he way it's barely attached.

That thing was put together straight out of a Ricks catalog. Someone said it may have been a Firebird.... odds are it was. One of the worst (and obvious) ripoff's I've seen so far. I'd give him $1000.

Somebody is going to get ripped off pretty bad on that one (bid is already over 12K). It's just a jumble of pieces from 67 to 69 Camaro's and Thunder Chickens. I'll bet it was thrown together by a junk yard owner using parts from a half dozen cars. It even looks like they painted it right over the rusty areas. Very hard to understand why they have all positive feedback on ebay.

Funk, that is a really nice Z. What is the asking price?

Makes me appreciate my project that much more.

Was a tach optional in a '68Z?

I noticed that they use text from the CRG in their pictures...
I personally have never seen a real 1968 Z28 without the tic-toc-tach. Guages were optional.
The cowl tag shows "712" and "L-L", which would be black buckets and Teal Blue top & bottom(white stripe). This car has a bench seat, black vinyl top and black stripe.
