Wow. Unbelievable.

I am not acting like I know everything or even alot, but, why would you have a car like that and only have 27 miles? Is it just me but does the engine look a bit on the dirty side for that low of miles? Again, I am not trying to be critical I am just trying to learn, look at the original paint on the block, looks a bit dirty with grease or paint. Also, look at the top hose coming out of the water pump to the intake, is that orange paint? Should the hood look that dark, was that from paint or undercoating? Not criticizing but just asking so I can learn.

Does look like a ton of overspray, even on the exhaust manifolds.
And why is the first bid $400,000.00? I'm thinking a friend is trying to bump up the price of this car.
Look at the dirt!
See the crud on the water pump right near the hoses?
How can a car with only 27 miles get that way?

I think in the Q&A Jay Leno hit the nail on the head re: the missing air filter, "mickey moused" exhaust hanger. I believe that it may be a survivor LS6 car, but I don't buy the mileage.

The guy states the carpet was dirty from him getting in and out during the photo shoot, yeah right  why would you get ina nd out of a $400k+ car with dirty feet then take pictures of it that way . . .

The gas and brake pedals looked like they had a wear (or dirt) on them too

In the picture that shows the exhaust hanger it looks like the tire is pretty worn. With 27 miles on the tires they should still have the tits on them. Also, how did he get the carpet dirty in a pristinely clean garage? I have some serious doubts about his claims.

Here is my, probably stupid, opinion. Accurate 27 mile survivor or not...I'm never coming off 400K for a car....Even if I had it.

But you know what we say in the car biz...you can always sleep in your car but ya can't drive your house. :)

I'm almost certain this is the same car that sold on ebay @ 7 months ago for close to 1 Mil. Set a record for a 70 LS6. One of my auto magazines, (CHP?), had a write up about the sale of this car.
Are you sure that wasn't the convertible? They are getting that kind of money but the coupes aren't.

Well, it is from a "PRESTIGEST" collector, so it must be the real thing as described. The two owner story is easily explained by some vague personal "TRAGITY". I REALLY WISH THAT GUY WOULD QUIT SHOUTING HE MUST BE AN AOL USER NO PUNCTUATION CAN BE SEEN IN HIS REPLIES WHAT IS UP WITH THAT CAN WE ALL JUST GET ALONG PLEASE :p :D

The talk on the Chevelle site is it's the real deal, been hashed over many times and the last time the car sold was a year ago and it went for over $350K.

My own observations are, what looks like dirt under the hood is rust, factory paint was not high quality at all. No over spray on exhaust, it's rust, just looks orange. Booster plating is correct, all the replated gold ones we see all the time are not correct, they are too gold. Pictures with pedels in them are not focused on the pedels so what looks warn to some is actually just blured... Compaired to the spare tire the tire doesn't look that worn to my eyes but it looks like it's been rolled through a dirty shop area, also the focal plain is on exhaust not tire...

heck of a car.... but, is all the red overspray "normal"? I see red all over the underside of the hood, on the trunk latch, the door latch screws, and the strikers.
Most all of the cars on ebay today are 'over-restored'. The factory workers didn't car as much about a little overspray on the bottom of a car as the guys trying to get 100k out of a resto-clone today!
