When I started on my car it did not have the correct front inner fenders. I have replaced both sides but the new ones do not have the holes required for the bellcrank and I have found nothing to give me, with any accuracy, the correct locations for the holes. Has anyone found information or a template that provided the correct hole locations?

Thanks

I have the same problem. I almost want to just weld in the brackets. But the hole for the turn signal wires, and the bellcrank must be drilled.

Anyone?

It seems Rick's is the only place that sell the fender well's with the correct holes drilled, mind you they want an extra $34 bucks for them...wonder what that works out to be in a cost/hole? And no they do not have a template.

Steve and Doug,
I have a set of originals hanging on my wall in the garage, along with the same problem of cutting holes in the new inners. I will try to get them measured up this weekend and send you both an email with the measurements for the bellcrank. I will try to make it a digital photo with the measurements on it, but please give me some time to get it done....as the 'honey do list' is long this weekend.

I bought a set of drilled inners from Ricks for my 68 rs/ss conv, they were a good start, but they did miss a couple holes on the driver side, not sure how they missed them, but it was good that the ones I took off were still in good shape so I used them as a template. I could have re-used them but I'm saving the GM sheetmetal for a # match L30M20 car I have.

Thanks for the info Gramps! Once I located the bellcrank hole, 1 1/4 x 1 1/2, I just bolted the headlight pod in and found were the bellcrank support needed to be and marked and drilled. Should have it finished shortly. Instead of trying to do a fancy cut I used a 1 3/4 hole saw and it worked out perfect.

Thanks again.

very cool!! I am glad it worked out for you. I will keep that 1 3/4 inch holesaw in mind when I start to cut...
