You're just thinking like any red-blooded Chevrolet fan would:

"Hey Chevrolet, ahhh Ford is like royally kicking your a** with the new Mustang and maybe...you might want to build a CAMARO again???

But alas,GM has nothing to do with the re-creation '69 Camaro outside of signing off on it (for handsome royality fees I'm certain ;) so that it could be called a Camaro.

I work for Ford Motor.Have been a Chevy man since day one.

It saddens me to see GM constantly drag their feet on projects only to finally bring them to market...when there no longer IS a market.

You have to hand it to Ford in the sense that they respond to the ever-changing car marketplace within months, not years:

Bullit
Mach 1
GT

They are speaking performance to the masses these days and outside of the high priced GTO's and Z06's,what does GM offer that interests me?

Supercharged Cobalt?Are you serious?

Sorry for the rant...I just had to.

Just bought the issue, and its pretty good. I know that people are going to bash it because of certain issues. The car is pretty dang cool, and the working rear cowl is pretty neat looking.
Keep the dream alive, that's what I say.

Wow,that ain't cheap!

Anyone catch the Baldwin Motion '69 on display at SEMA yet?
They had a little blurp on last nights coverage of the Barrett-Jackson auction in Palm Beach.

The actual SEMA recap show will air Dec 4th so mark your calendars.

LOVE IT!! :)

Gonna try to scramble the cash needed to get hold of one. Just one problem - When importing it - Do I register it as a new, a modified or an "old" car...? The differencies between the versions could mean as much as $15k in taxes and import duties. But - wow - what a car that is! :D

I'm looking forward to the coupe.

Always wanted a 69 RS/SS 396 Camaro, don't care if its an original or not.

Good news.

Also for those that must have gennies, this will keep some other guys from cutting up the gennies to make what they want.

A couple of things that concerned me about these bodies:

1) Made in Taiwan: Bummer, a 69 Camaro body and it's welded together from 850 stampings in Taiwan and shipped over here in 35 sub assemblies.

2) Fit and Finish: Apparently the alingnment and fit aren't the best. Expect to have to modify and muscle some parts into place.

3) Thinner Sheet Metal: Need I say more here ?

OK..they say the welds are much stronger resulting in the chassis being more rigid. So it's not all bad.

Boy,that convertible top sure fits like heck (see page 94 in HR Dec. issue).
I would certainly have to display it with the top down if it was mine.

Bring on the coupes! :beers:
