WOWWWWW :) I love that car, and the grille and the R/SS logo is cool.

Jody,

You must have more information to be so enthused. Although these drawings are awesome where's the real deal? Has someone actually built one? Is someone just testing the waters? Inquiring minds want to know.

if they are coming out in 2006, how come they don't have any real pics of an actual car? you'd think they'd have at least one prototype built by now.
why weren't they at SEMA along with the 50 other companies making 69 Camaros?
why is it that everytime someone makes a slick CGI pic of a 69 Camaro and it gets online, everyone thinks it's the next big thing, and that if only GM would build that very car, we would have peace in the middle east and all the rain forests would grow back?

i'm probably the minority here, but i'm not into it at all. if i was going to get a custom first gen, it would be one of these.......

it would hand the other one its a$$ ;)

It's hard to send the wife to the store in a pro mod! I think it's kinda cool, needs a bunch of tweaking for my liking. But defiantly on the right track for a cool 69 Camaro. I wonder how much they will be? If the Foose Camaro is $125k and the Motion Camaro is in that range. These things have to be $200k? Cool for the rich people!

The Motion Supercars are $400K + and I'd guess these having a complete carbon fiber body and custom everything will be more than that.

Now why can't Chevrolet come up with cars like that?

Uhh, Chevrolet did, 36 years ago, it is called a 1969 Camaro....

If you are actually inferring that GM should build full carbon fiber bodied Camaros for sale to the public, I am sure the government crash tests, and fuel economy standards would relegate that to the mere dream that it is.

Not to mention everyone would bitch because they wouldn't cost 15 grand.....

what do you mean dragstertman? i just saw the 68 i posted running in the pro street class in vegas, so it must be a street car right? :D
sorry guys, that 69 is already starting to look dated to me, to me the whole "gee" machine thing is so last year.... and honestly i was never buying into it anyway. original looks and lines are timeless, anything else will soon be dated. just one man's humble opinion.
not to say i wouldn't like to take something like that retro 69 out and thrash on it, of course :)

Yes, the cars are real, and we are working on aerodynamics and wind tunnel testing. The first prototypes should be ready early 2006, and will then undergo further development at selected testing facilities with our test drivers.

The sheer amount of man-hours necessary to build the buck and molds for the carbon/Kevlar body is mind boggling, but that's geting close to completion. The amount of time spent handcrafting everything else is similarly enormous. The cars will be built at our new facility in Georgia.

As mentioned by another member, a drag car is wholly unsuitable for getting the groceries. These cars were designed to my specifications for reliable, safe and fun driving, as well as out and out competition (I'm a road racer at heart, so the cars not only go straight, but turn left and right and stop on a dime).

The full road race version will eat any other car out there for lunch (and I have owned and raced Ferrari 360 Challenge cars, formula cars, and everything in between) at 1,000 bhp and 2300 lbs. with downforce body and advanced aerodynamics. And I'm not too sure it would get whupped at the strip either.

As for the price- with Motion cars in the $400,000 range I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.

Am I the only one that thinks this thing is hideous!!
see my post. :)
solly, i fully respect you endeavor, i'm sure it will be a very impressive ride. but i'd rather own a ferrari, or buy a real first gen, 68 preferably, and spend 100 grand on it making it original and fast as hell, part of owning one is that it is one, imo. purely my opinion, i'm sure others agree with me, but the vast mojority probably would not.
and for the record, the pic of shannon jenkins' 68 pro street/pro mod was done very much tongue in cheek ;) .
good luck with your venture

I looked earlier was a bit short on time to post. While it is not for me (and please don't take that as a negative!) I think they are works of art. One thing really bugs me is that d@mn wing on the yellow car... Everything else, well, I could spend hours looking at it, the wing is just visually jarring to me. Neat concept, sounds like the engineering (something I wish I was much better versed in) is going to be solid rather than a bunch of neat goodies just thrown at it "for pretty." I applaud your efforts and am REALLY glad you aren't cutting up any already too rare f-bodies to do it. (and really, how awesome is carbon fiber!).

Carry on!
