Hopefully I've finally found something that will pan out. Could I get some info on the following info please? These were given to me by the seller and I have not verified they are correct. Thanks in advance.

vin 124379L528738

ST 69 12437VN315020
TR 729 52 E BDY
4B E075

Engine
cast 3932388
date code C249
19L528738
TO 326 HB

Carb
702 8213

Intake
3927 184
date b269

Car has a 12 bolt and THM350 but he didn't have numbers on those yet.

Here's some pics he sent that I asked for. 28 coils on the springs. Cowl tag pic was too blurry to read well:

That's what he gave me. Let me know if something doesn't look right. Thanks! Dan

My LOS 03B build date 350 SS Indy Pace Car has no drivers reinforcement plate. I am the second owner and have no doubt to it's authenticity. I believe the plate is a "Norwood" thing The vin you gave is VN is a California built car No plate is correct in my opinion. The car look's good so far more info would help.

I have a 02C LOS 350 SS L48HA L523974 and it has the driver side reinforcement exhaust hanger plate.

Because the passenger side already had inserts in the frame rail for the standard single exhaust pipe hanger. When you ordered dual exhaust and just drilled into the frame rail it weakend the rail. GM must have found frame rails cracking in 67's and 68s with dual exhaust around the bolt holes, and came up with a fix for 69.

Seller confirmed that the hanger in the pic is on the drivers side. Not sure what to make of that. Has anyone seen an SS that didn't have the welded plate? Here's a pic I found on an older thread:

My dad was telling me he had a friend that worked on a GM assembly line in CA in the 60's. His job was to put 4 screws into a trim piece. He said that many times when the line went too fast they didn't get all 4 in. Maybe somebody missed this one?

Have you gotten photos of the engine stamping yet? This car is too late to be an LM1, so if it was an L48 it should have had dual exhaust. I can't see someone on the line missing welding the plate on, and the bracket in the top photo is totally different than "normal" for the driver side.

maybe you can check the underside of the trunk floor right next to where the bracket is bolted to the frame in the top picture. Where the trunk floor goes up at an angle to the top where the shocks mount, factory single exhaust cars have a welded bracket to support the driver side of the muffler. If it's there or there's signs it has been removed, then it started as a single exhaust car and that frame bracket for the duals makes more sense.

Another possibility is that the driver side frame rail has been repaired or replaced.

Let the pros see the engine stamp pic...

Eric- Thanks for the reply. The engine stamp pics I got today were blurry and unusable. The car is not local to me, but it is to my dad and he was able to check it out today. Even though he is a car guy he wouldn't know a restamp (neither would I). Before I fly out to see it for myself I'm going to tell the seller I need a good clear pic of the stamp. I'll also have him put it on the lift and get some shots of the area you describe.

I sure appreciate all your guys help. I've grown paranoid with all the "real" SS's I've gone to look at. Trouble is this one's not easy for me to go see.

Thanks again! Dan

Eric- I took some pictures of the area you described as well as the passenger side. Exhaust hangers on the frame rail on both sides are identical with no welded plate. There are also 2 additional hangers in front of the axle. I saw no evidence of anything being removed. Let me know what you think. Thanks!
