Jody Bernard (camcojb) built the motor. You might want to ask him.

I built that motor for my friend and am listing it for him. There are no issues at all with that engine that I am aware of. Those numbers were made on the chassis dyno at Speed Merchant in San Jose.

The block fill really strengthens the bottom end on a higher hp setup. It has no cooling issues at all, never breaks 180 degrees even idling in 100+ degree weather here in Sacramento. He has a good aluminum PRC radiator, a good Edelbrock Victor water pump, and the Lincoln Mark VIII electric fan for excellent airflow. Nothing exotic, but a good well thought out cooling system.

He made those numbers without intercooling. An intercooler is always nice, he just never got around to doing one. He did run water injection at 14 psi of boost and I'd recommend a water/alky system on any blown pump gas engine. He was going to drop the boost to 11 psi and that pulley is included. 700 rwhp is tough to hook, but a lot of fun. The engine is totally driveable, very low maintenance with the hydraulic roller cam, and the EFI setup lets it start and drive like a modern car.

A few questions

What fuel tank do you use if you switch to EFI. Do you have the stock tank modified and if so how? I did a search and cannot find any posts.

What is the part number for the FAST harness and computer. I am checking out their website but I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

Any thoughts on what something like this would cost to build? Mike
Parts for the motor would be well over $11,000. Maybe Jody will chime in with specific details on the cost of engine parts, FAST computer, harness and fuel tank questions.

You can have a sump done on a stock tank, buy a baffled Rock Valley EFI tank, or simply add a 1/2" feed line into the factory fuel level sender. The last choice means you can't let the tank get low as there's no baffling to keep the fuel at the inlet.

This engine ran awesome as a blow through carb setup. He had a Victor Jr. and a 750 blow through Holley, and it ran as strong as the efi system. Didn't get the mileage of the EFI setup though!

Thanks Jody.
I have been reading about converting the stock tank but I don't like the idea of hitting the gas and the car bogging because the pickup was not getting any fuel.

The RV tanks are big bucks.

But, putting a carb on it and having to dial it in is no fun. Having a motor that's been setup and the cal-map is done is much easier.
