I am trying to get the wiper arms off of my 67 Camaro but am not having much luck. I got a tool from Year 1 that looks like a pair of pliers but there isn't enough room to get it under the arm.

Any suggestions?

A flat bladed screwdriver is all I've ever used.

I got a tool from Rick's for $5.00, works great. It's a bar with a little hook, easy to use. If you need to use it, email me, I could run down and pop them off for you.

use a WIDE flat head screwdriver and take a shop towel and fold it into 2'' by 2''. Then cover your entire hood with towels if you like the finish as it is now. I did mine on sunday and it took a long time. Corrosion and old paint can make them real sticky. When the passenger side came off it flew about 3 feet and put a nice gash in one of the stripes.

You could also do it right and by a tool. I've never used it but everyone says it makes the job cake.

Right now the whole front clip is off the car so scratching the hood is not an issue. I will try the wide flat blade and have a slide hammer as well. If not, Mike I may take you up on your offer.

Thats the way to do it...but use 2 WIDE flat head screwdrivers , 1 either side.
1 of them lifts the small retainer clip at the same time.

When u put them back on...a liitlle grease on the slpines stops binding in the future, also dont push them home untill u have the sweep set right

Used the tool and got them off today, thanks to all. Didn't get as much elevation as bearcat44, only about 2' but still exciting around all of that finished metal.
