Does it fit with a 2 inch cowl and a holley carb? I have a 2 inch cowl hood and want to make sure it fits before I put it on. Thanks

I think it's the same height as the rpm. I have a drop base with 4" K&N. Fits up into my cowl.

Intake still leaking?
Absolutely. Followed ALL of the recommended installation instructions, had the right gasket, only used RTV on the front and rear, torqued them all to 25 ft lbs, let it dry for 24 hours, retorqued the bolts after I ran it a couple of times, but it only lasted for about 50 miles!!! It's leaking from the exact same place it was leaking before, right along the front of the block on the passenger side! All I can think of is the intake must be warped, but we test fitted it onto the block, and it sat flush, so I'm stumped???? I'm thinking about ditching the air gap and just putting on a regular Performer RPM. Haven't decided yet. I just know that was alot of work for nothing, but hey, at least I know what's ahead of me next time!

I have it and it fits with a 3inch air cleaner but its tight. My wing nut was actually too big and I had to get a smaller one to make it fit

I put ULTRA BLACK 1/16th bead around all water ports and intake ports and a nice thick 1/4 inch bead in the front and back. I'm sure many will say not to do the 1/16th, but I never had a leak. It would really stink if I did though. What kind of RTV are you using?

I used Ultra black and did exactly as you stated.

Hmmm...

I know, it sucks, I had the help of a VERY good mechanic who has probably done a hundred intakes, and it still friggin' leaked! Like I said, maybe the intake is warped, I'm probably going to get another intake next time round'..........

Got one with cowl hood and seal and stock height air filter. No problems

Where I did have problems was installing the alt bracket . About a 1/2 in off in height where the rear tab mounts to the thermo housing and short on the water pump tab... I got me one of those Lokar alt bracket with the adjustable jack bolt.... Done deal... Someone said a bbc upper bracket would work, but I could not find one, locally.

If you want to get the air cleaner in the center of the cowl hood opening use a offset HEI air cleaner base. This moves the air cleaner forward 1-1/2". You will need a 5/8" air cleaner spacer to clear the float adjustment screws on Holley carbs. I can post pics if interested. The offset base has little drop, but it fits nicely into the cowl opening.

I can fit a RPM manifold, 1" carb spacer, Holley 4150, offset HEI base, 3" element, K&N filter top, and it barely clears. I have to use a nut instead of a wingnut to clear the hood.

I want to use the stock drivers side mount. It mounts to the front of the intake and a bolt on the water pump. I made sure the Airgap intake has a threaded boos on the front. Yours does right? My bracket doesn't mount to the thermo housing.

I run Edelbrock RPM airgap, 4160 Holley 750 on a ZZ383 under a 2"cowl hood with no problems.
Does your cowl have a opening for your air cleaner or is it raised complete under hood.
