I am planning on installing my MSD 6a box behind the left head light on the front header panel...basically between header panel and headlight cup. I have already test-fit and it fits great. It is completley hidden from view (my goal) in this location. I do not drive this car in the wet so I am not worried about rain blowing in onto the unit from around the headlight and I will just have to be careful washing and rinsing.

My question is: Is there any issue with me powering the MSD box from the voltage coming off the horn relay? It is the exact same voltage as the battery...at least on my car. I test ran the car with this hook up and it ran fine.

Why not put it in the same place on the passenger side? That way, it will be right next to the battery.

Another 2 cents here.. I mounted mine on the firewall just above my heater housing. You are thinking correctly about water as I lost one over 10 year period due to this but it was not sealed... So the second one was sealed all around box.

The other issue was I began to have problems with power outages when I used the positive cable lead wire for supply . Don't know if there was a break in the lead but it was intermittent so I went directly to starter lug just to make sure I had lots of supply.. But I may have had problems in the box also.
I think that you have a junction block on the right side of the radiator support so that may be a good place to mount and tap power.

The reason I chose Driver's side is so that I could run the wires to the Pertronix ignitor and the coil in with an pre-existing electrical harness.

Plus, I didn't want more connections directly to the battery... doesn't look stealthy that way.

If you didn't already know I had an MSD igintion, you would never be able to detect it they way I have run it. That was my goal...concealment.
