1968 convertible quarter panels

why is 95% of 1968 camaro conv's missing the body line just aft of the conv well pinch moulding? i'm talking about the line that runs from the rear corner of the top towards the upper corner of the decklid...

i beleive those seams were filled in with lead from the factory. At least mine on my '67 were/are.

My 68 was filled with lead also.

i'm sorry...i was not talking about the seam..i am familliar with that being filled in on conv's.

i was talking about another body line in the same area of the seam...i have seen this on one 67 conv that i beleive had no bodywork ever done on it...
