I can't comment on where the best place to stay is because I live close by in Knoxville. If you've ever been there you know how crowded it gets, so I would make reservations now. Here's a link with the area motels: http://www.mypigeonforge.com/Hotels_list.asp
And do not miss the opportunity to see Floyd Garretts Muscle Car Museum, Pidgeon Forge, Tenn. The Holy Meeting Place for Old Muscle.
Don't Miss the COPO 427 Station Wagon.
II will be there would not miss it just hope that it don't rain last year I went down on wed and it rained till sunday I should have just stayed home , may have better luck this year
I'm going but I'll be taking my 70 Chevelle SS396. If you wait till the last minute you wont find a reservation anywhere near the action. You want to stay near the Grand Resort, around traffic light 6 or 7. Either way you will do a lot of walking.

I went down a couple years back to the Good Guys event. As we were leaving the muscle cars were comming in for there week of fun. So is there actually 2 shows? 1 for the old street rods and 1 for the Muscle cars? Oh, stayed in a motor home.
WALKING YOU SAY ?
not me , my son and I have two old 1960's stingray bike's with springer front fork's and wide rear slick tire's , they fit right in , you can ride a bike from one end of the place to the other and not be on oxygen ,,,,,
