So I'm on my way to pick my son up from camp today and I spot an "old car" in someone's front yard up ahead. Obviously for sale.
It's a Buick Skylark.... it's black inside and out.... it's got a ducted hood..... and it looks totally stock right down to the tires.
I almost crashed!
I really, really want a 70-72 Skylark. It doesn't have to be a GS... just a real nice survivor is all I ask. I've always wanted one.
So I pick him up and we pull over so I can take a look. I almost tripped and fell in these peoples front yard when I notice these big red letters in the grill that say GS.

I next notice the GSCA sticker in the window. Oh man.... I'm not worthy!
Well, this '72 Skylark must really be a GS! So I jot down all the trim tag and VIN numbers and sure enough, this car that hasn't been registered or inspected since 1998 really IS a '72 GS. The cob webs and dust seem to prove that it's been in someone's garage since then.
Other than the usual suspension bushing rot and rusty trunk pan, the car is 100% complete and original. Then I spot a piece of paper in the window that's a print-out from some automotive site like KBB or Edmunds detailing what the car is worth in a low price range, mid range and high range. He knows what he has obviously, and he wants to play the 'Best Offer' game.

I can't afford what he'll be asking for it, even at the low range.... even if I sold the Camaro. Yes, I said it. I admit it. Shoot me! But how often do you see something like this sitting in someone's front yard FOR SALE?!
Oh, the Gods of Lotto.... please smile upon me!
