This survey will help us learn how interested folks are in getting together, how far everyone is willing to travel and when the best time to undertake an event like this for most participation.

Please post a reply if you would be willing to help make this happen if it were held in a location near you. If we started this up as an actual event on it's own as opposed to meeting at an established event it should be open to all Camaro owners that would like to join in so let us know if you know of a local club that might help out if it were local to you as well.

Great idea Jim (click) lets see what everyone says...

Thanks,

For 2005 , You know me, drive anywhere to see Camaros. Im more than willing to help plan something, somewhere. How about it folks? Toss your sparkplug into the hat

Had a mental flash too... we could tie in a charity to the event for more publicity and help a cause. There will be 15000 ideas for that but perhaps Cancer, or Azlheimers, or Habitat for Humanity etc. could be ideas to ponder. A registration of $25 lets say, with $5 going to charity.... get my drift?
This would give us help in a large town in setting up somewhere, cuz its for charity. The charity folks there could help with logistics, registration etc. Then we could also each bring something to auction, a car part, Tee shirt, famous person autographed item, etc.. which raises more money for the charity.

I'm in!! The Camaro crowd is a bit reclusive here in Utah, so I am ALWAYS up for a get-together with fellow enthusiasts!

I would be interested in assisting to set-up a meet around NJ and the surrounding states, CT, NY, PA, DE. I have met a few TCers already, but I know there are more in NJ, that I have not met. I just have to get my car running before then

I would also like to meet fellow TC members somewhere in the USA. My girlfriend and I would love to go on vacation to the USA, so we could combine this trip with such an event. Sadly enough I cannot bring the Camaro then, but maybe I can rent a 4th gen when I'm there :)
I am willing to travel more then 1000miles (LOL, how would I cross the big lake between USA and Europe

), so if this meeting is comming once I'll try to make it there.....maybe not this year, or next year, but I AM going to the USA (only don't ask me when :D )

Very good idea for such a meeting!

I was actually thinking about the same thing. DJD, can you sort members by their location? Sacramento seems like one logical location

Count me in. Although there was only one time frame allowed for answering on what time is best for you, I'm interested in any month.

I think it is a great idea! It would be tricky with my schedule (student), but if there were one nearby, I would definitely try to go... and bring the Camaro!

I personally would like to fly back east or midwest to an event and rent a car and see some other part of the country. I was originally thinking that meeting up at an event like Hot Aug. Nites would be fun, but there's already too much to do & see...Maybe we could go on up and drop in on Al and Dot in Canada eh? I hear they have really good beer up there.lol. To make things "centrally located", maybe Ohio or something? As long as we all have plenty of time to plan it out, then we should be o.k.

Hey Guys, I would love that. I don't know about bringing my '69 due to my location, unless everyone wants to ship their cars down here ??? :D But seriously, I would love to come and meet you guys face to face to say thanks for all the help and see your rides up close.

Mike

Keep in mind guys that winter meetings leave out the whole northern tier of cars and our friends in Canada, that dont like to drive in snow

Perhaps 3 different gatherings would attract a larger contingent, east, midwest and west. Some may wish to attend more than one as well. There wont be any place within 1000 miles of everyone and the month wont work for everyone either. But I sure smile seeing all the interest and comments help us alot too. Maybe Hooters corp. can sponsor a gathering or all of them. Anyone connected to their promo dept?

I think a meeting would be great. Maybe something like a Camaros.net Power Tour. Plan it for next summer and have the meeting place be Colorado (or some place nice like that). Have a group from the west, east, north, and south. We could all converge on one place. As mentioned above if you try to plan it in conjunction with other events then there are too many distractions and other plans. If it is made specifically for the TC'ers to meet then have it over a couple days, I think it would be great. Maybe even head over to the drag strip or something like that one of the nights. In either case with so many members and locations it will not be easy to get the majority together. It will take a lot of notice and planning. You could do it on a smaller scale on a yearly basis and then once every 3-5 on a national basis.

If you plan it in conjunction with another event (Hot August Nights, Dream Cruise, etc...) then maybe plan to have the TC'ers meet a day or two in advance (before the activities) of hang around afterwards. I would be up for meeting for the Dream Cruise I have always wanted to do that anyway)

But then everyone comes to Las Vegas for something. We do have one major charity here. It's Oppertunity Village. It was established by a couple with a disabled child to help parents to deal, cope and learn how to care for mentally and physically challenged people. Now they help to train individuals with handycaps to manage themselves, and integrate into society by teaching them job skills. So eventually they can be self sustaining and a productive part of society.

No, I'm not the spokesman for it. I'm just waiting on word of my drug test and background check to come back so I can go to work for em.

Are nova's invited? ;)

I've already met a few of you guys, and talked to a few others on the phone. I agree...a bigger meeting would be very cool. I think it would have to be done on an area by area basis though.

If nova's are ok, let me know in advance so I can swap in the 2.73's!

LOVE it!

I'd have to say that doing something like 4 or 5 regional TC events would be a lot easier and probably attract a lot more members than one big event centrally located.

My vote is for several get-togethers. Maybe have them all on the same days. In the Spring or Fall. Maybe Spring Break or Easter break so families can attend, and it's not bloody hot out for those folks with no Vintage Air.
