Hope this post is in right area, I'll try to keep long story short. I just returned from visiting family in the midwest, while there talked with a friend who knew a guy that had some cars in a field, we've all heard that before, managed to get ahold of the owner who invited me down for a look, found a 67 rs,68 coupe, nothing fancy, a hugger orange 69 and what looks like a 69 rs, all projects needing everything. Then guy takes me to an old barn and buried back in the corner is a 69z28, about 2 inches of dust on it,no engine in it everything else is there, 4 spd,12bolt,discs brakes, console with gauges, my crappy 35mm did not get a clear picture of tag, it is x77, paint 71, blue interior, has spoiler on rear, no D80 on tag, guy has had car since mid 70's, in another building is a correct DZ block all apart but it appears it is all there. sorry for long story but I havent been able to get this car out of my head for last 4 days. I do have a few pics of it covered in dust. My question is this, what would you pay for this car, I know every one is different in what they will pay, I made what i thought to be a reasonable offer, he did not turn it down, simply wants to think about it for awhile.No problem i told him, I did buy all 4 of the other cars though. thanks for input, again sorry for long winded post

Sure looks like an A/C dash. Is that pict of the blue Z28 car?
Period correct tires...........nice find, both the car and engine.
Seat cloth pattern?.....unusual.

thanks joe58, I didnt even notice the dash pad was different, seat covers were changed in mid70's to the nice plaid, rear seat was recovered as well, rear quarters have a little rust but not serious,had big tires on it at one point and curled up the inners, zero rust on floors or frame rails, cant wait to get it home

i cant explain the ac dash but it definitely does not have a/c, owner told me that he used to have quite a few 69's so it is possible that he changed the pad at some point, he's had the car since the 70's so anything is possible, the other 2 i bought from him, one was a factory a/c car and the other was an under dash unit

I would guess that he used the dash pad for AC and the stock opening was showing so he put a center vent from the AC car to cover the hole. Otherwise he would have to buy a new pad. But this could have been the car with under dash AC at one time since you say the other was AC? From the orginal note posted , I had assumed one of these cars was the Z car? Or did I still misunderstand.
