I am reinstalling the upper and side reveal moldings on the windshield of my '68. I have some OER clips that I got from Classic Industries that don't seem to grab the moldings very well. After doing a little searching here, it seems like there are several different styles of these clips (green, red, rectangular, D-type). Can someone tell me which clip style is correct for the upper and side windshield moldings and where to get good ones that will allow the moldings to "snap" into place like they should? Thanks.

Just did mine...got green NOS looking ones from HBC (for windshield- they didnt work). Happened to have a set of black ones from steves camaros, san bruno, ca which worked well. Glass man not happpy changing all of them with glass in.

Its not the color but the way the clip is designed as the two differed.

I can post pictures if someone needs them- have to get out the camera and go find the clips...

The black one on the right works. The clip has a hump on the right that will catch the moulding. The green one on left has a serrated tooth that doesnt seem to work. Anyway just call steves camaros at 650-873-1890 /1-800-544-4451 or stevescamaroparts.com. The bag sold to me said 67-9 window clips as I recall so I dont think you can go wrong. They did sell me this clip for rear window which is different from the halfround clip that I did use for rear- thats how I ended up with 2 sets...lucky me.

I had several that were very similar.Green, Red, gray, I think. Anyway, they were very very similar. Ricks, Year One, etc all had thier own "correct" ones for sale...of course each one was different. It took some careful study to bick out the differences, which were mostly minor differences in the shape of the little clip that grabs the trim. I posted about 3-4 years ago asking which were "correct", and no one seemed to know. I ended up testing mine to see which grabbed the best.
I used the silver D-shaped ones (similar to the pic above) for the rear all the way around. I used some long red ones for the A-pillar and (this is where I'm a bit fuzzy) I think green d-shaped ones for the top of the windshield. I might have used red D-shaped ones on the top.....I hate getting old. I bought some a Ricks, some at Year One, some at D&R and some at my local auto body supply house. I have no clue which came from where........I hate getting old.

Thanks guys,
I ended up using the green OER clips, however I had to bend them to get them to grab the molding. I compared the green OER's the one of the original (I assume) rusty clips that was on the car before. There is a bend in the sheet steel that the clip is made out of, up near the top where the little "tooth" sticks out. I had to take some pliers and flatten out this bend, along with tweaking the "tooth" so it would stick out a little more. This worked for now, however I'll probably try to get some better clips at some point.

I need to edit my post. The clips I used on the Apillars were as in the pic above. The ones I used for the entire rear glass and top of the windshield were D-shaped. I was thinking the pics were of D-shaped clips, and they were not. Sorry for the bad info.
