Just bought a set of 15x7 Torq Thrust II's with tires, and now need a set of rears for my '69. Is the 15x8 with 4.5" backspace a correct choice, and can I put a 275/60/15 on them without clearance issues? Suspension is all stock, with multileaf springs.

Thanks in advance!

Check out this link. It says to use 15 x 8-1/2", 4-7/8" backspacing and that 28x10.5 rubber will fit.

I also have a '69 that will be getting new rims and rubber this winter.

Jim,

I have seen you post a couple of times that you would use a 9" rim with a 275 (5.5" bs) but an 8 w/4.5" will work.

Have you actually done the 9" / 275 combination on a 1969 Camaro? I am ready to purchase a set of Torque Thrust II's and would rather have the 9" than the 8" (more "visual" depth).

Not questioning you, just want to make sure my hard earned cash doesn't turn into restocking fees.

Thanks

i have this combination on my '69 convertible ... torque thrusts w/4.5 backspacing and 275/60R15 tires. i did have a slight problem with the drivers side outside edge of the fender rubbing the tire. i increased the rear shackles by about a 1/2 or so and no more problems.
