Sorry Greg but I wish it had a gas tank. Maybe I should elaborate more on this car. It is totally stripped and sand blasted with patches of orange inside of doors, cowl etc. Very little left of what it once was. I have managed to contact 2 owners back so far and found out it had a gage cluster concole when they had it and they sold it out of the car. I think it was an SS at one time and the body was to bad at the time to fix so people just robbed all the good stuff out of it. Now with all the body panels that can be ordered it is restorable. I'm going to continue to locate previous owners as far back as I can to try to get info. Also someone told me that they only put hugger orange on copo's SS and Z28's Is there any truth to that. Well looks like its going to be impossible to find out anything that can be proven beyond a doubt, so I guess I'll join the crowd and just stick a 572/620 in it with a tremec and some big brakes. At least its a great color combo to go with a set of foose nitrous thrust wheels.

Yes, with the 572/620, you will need very big brakes.

By the VIN, it is a V8 car. If it has an original single fuel line, 12 bolt axle and duel exhaust hanger plate, it could have been an SS or Z/28.
The SS cars have a dual fuel line, except for the 375 horse version. The dual fuel line was used on cars with a Q-Jet.

Single lines found on cars equipped with a Holley (Z28, 396/375, etc). Single lines also used on L6, 307, 327, 350 2bbl.

Thanks also bill for that info. I'll check all these items when I get home from work today and let you all know what I find. I'm just going to pick up the car tonight if it will ever stop raining. When I get home I'll pull it in the garage and start the quest of identifying. I did find out from someone who owned this car about 10years age sold the concole/gage package ouy of it does that tell you anymore about it. Did only certain cars have a concole with gages in it.
