IMHO, youd be insane to take a set of NOS RS fenders and do anything to them. If you want NOS Standard fenders, sell your NOS RS fenders on Ebay, then buy a set of NOS Standard fenders on ebay, and pocket the difference, which would be in your favor by anywhere from $200 to $800. I would say, DONT TOUCH THEM lol.

The sell the RS fenders and buy the non RS fenders was always the plan. My only problem is the RS fenders were on a car and painted, (but sitll have the GM tags) so I know the value has to be taken down quite a bit. I would really like to find the non rs fenders in the same situation as mine.

I'm in the same situation, have RS fenders and need Std fenders. Where does one get the standard brackets, besides cutting off the orig ones?

I've seen several sold on ebay, usually not very high of a price, in the same sort of condition you mentioned. Even though its not NOS since its painted, if you clean it up, take a picture of the GM sticker on the inside and some explanation, I think you'll still make out fine. I have a OEM Driver side, but sadly, while pushing the car into my garage when I moved here, the car hit the garage door, and put a dent in it. It wasnt in bad shape prior that. I found a replacement GM OEM RS fender for $50.00 on ebay, but the guy must not have known what even a used, but in excellent shape OEM fender would bring. I got the fender on a "buy it now" deal. Anyway, Im rambling, but I would still say, to both of yall, dont mess up a OEM RS fender, they are very short supply, even if they arent NOS.
Merry CHRISTmas.

Actually, bbd564, shoot me an email. I have a Passenger side GM Standard fender. Its got surface rust, but is in great shape, and I need a GM RS fender. We might be able to work something out...
