We just removed the old dash panel on our 68 camaro. We would like to Por 15 the top of the cowl panel before we put the new dash panel in. We are going to replicate the factory spot welds by mig welding 1/4 holes. My question is, how do you weld over Por 15?

You cant.It will burn and the smoke is very toxic. Also use 5/16 holes,1/4 is a bit small.

So can I just grind out the por 15 right where I will weld, and weld there, or will that damage the por 15 around due to the heat.
