To make a long story short i was out and about when i ran accross a guy in his driveway putting his plow on and in his barn beside the road was a old green vette.. Curriousity got me and i stoped to ask about it.
It is a 1965 hipo 327 with a 4 speed and 410 rear All original...yup all orig.

He bought it in 1971 for 2200.00 with 2 tops and rarely drove it. The rear let go and he put another in but saved the orig one that needs a carrier or somthing like that. He said the car had 1 paint job back in the day and the color was not changed.(somthing Green He said)the car had an adjustable colum with a wood wheel and everything inside was there. The car has 56000 miles on it and was a blast to look at. 6500 red line on tac with the stock shifter and all. I had a hard time seeing it all as it was getting dark outside but he said i could come back and take some pics in the daylight. I would not say the car was perfect but with all its original parts what would it be worth?
Even had a cable driven tac dist in it. Does anyone here know anything about corvettes as i have no clue what it may be worth in this close to untouched state. I had him entertaining the sale of the car but i would like to know what it is worth before i even think of buying it. I would only be interested in flipping the car as i really do not like vetts. Sorry for asking about a vette but i could not find a forum on them and i know there is alot of knowledge here.
Anyone?
Thanks
Brian

I was accually there but thought it was all new ones...

If somthing happens i'll post some pics and offer it here first:thumbsup:

We do the same thing here with gen 1, gen 2,... camaros.
As I'm sure you have figured it out by now 63-67 vettes are C2's

I remember when they were
Solid Axel
Midyears
And the "new" Shark style. :)

Now it is
53-62 = c1
63-67 = c2
68-82 = c3
84-96 = c4
97- that is where I lost count :clonk:

That car is just what I have been looking for - keep me in mind. :D

97-04 = c5
05-present = c6

I have a C5, so I'm partial to them :D . But I'd love to have a 65-67 as those are the Vette's I remember drooling over as a kid. Couldn't afford them then and still can't. '67 is the last of a short run on that body style. They tend to pull some very nice $$$

if what you are looking at is a real deal 327 hi-po L79 rpo with all original parts, it would be a great investment. Take a look at barrett-jackson.com to get an idea of what these c2's are worth on today's market. If the owner is willing to sell, decide if you want to restore or turn as is. Restores are not cheap, but they do increase the car's value. Also ask if he has any documentation on the car, the tank sticker will hopefully be intact. Better than the stock market, the real deal is hard to find... check with the guys at corvette forum as suggested..

vettes are cost when restoring. We have a 84 and just for door panels run 800bucks. if that car is true and the owner is willing to sell the car I jump on that in a heart because the turn around would be large.

No tank stickers until 67.
A fully restored L79 done to "Top Flight" standards would be in the high $60's to mid $70's,
add another $15K for A/C (like my 1966 car)

But it sounds like this car needs a $50K restoration. ???

So, you should keep it original, and clean it up.
Because it is a better investment unrestored.
Unrestored (but not perfect) it may be worth $30K to $40K If everything is untouched original.
Maybe a little more if it is a true "survivor".... but since it has already been painted - not likely still eligible.

I would like to hear more.

1965 was the first year for disc brakes on those cars, plus the available side exhaust option. Highly desirable! I'd jump all over that car if I were you. 63-67 Corvettes are one of the greatest car designs of all time in my opinion, roadster or coupe.

I need to get out more! My wife is selling her 65 Mustang. A carpenter came to look at it and told me the same story. He was working at a place in Lodge Grass, Montana and saw a 68 Vette setting in a barn. He talked the owner into selling it to him. He paid $8000 for a 427, 4 speed with like new interior. It has 7000 (seven thousand) miles on it. The paint is totally shot due to owls and other birds roosting above it. Some of the wiring has fallen prey to mice too. He also politely told me it wasn't for sale.

well i finaly got some pics. The guy had the car in his trailer. Said he had to put his tractor in the barn to fix it or sumthin..whatever so is there any buyers for this car? I asked him if we could take it out of the trailer and he told me "when you show me the money I'll take you for a ride in it"
The other top is in his cellar and did not seem real excited to take me down there. I have a line on an orig big block 69 Camaro and I am trying to put a deal togeather on it. I have no real interest in the vette but if one of you guys would like it E-mail me and make an offer on the car I'll convey it to him as he asked me" not to have people driving him crazy over the car" The guy is a good guy and said"ehh I don't need to sell it but i would like some one to bring it back"
Let me know
Brian
