i am going to try to start a motor that has not been fired in over 20 years...it does spin...do I need to pre-oil it?? anything suggestions?? i really would like to fire it up before I yank it out...its not original to the car, so im going to keep it as a spare for somrthing else...

my opinion,
pour lucas/marvel mystery oil all over the top end and into the cylinders before you turn it over

i had someone tell me to spray quite a bit of Wd40 in the cylinders and rotate by hand a few times to lube up the rings so they dont get destroyed. Prime the motor aswell. run it a quart low until it gets hot, then pour the lucas in (its so heavy it will just sink to the bottom if you dont).
