Does anyone still produce the 302 crank? I know bigger is better and everybody wants the 383, 427 s.b.c but what if you want to put together a 302? Also, is anyone making the 302 pistons?

Not unless its a custom crank as I have new small journal a set of new std. oistons and a set of 327 vette rods and I think the rings are there as well.

PM me if interested,

you can make a 302 with a 327 small journal block and a 283 crank. Or take a 283 and have it bored to 4.00". That is how I have done it before. Just make sure you use all small journal stuff(pre'68) and 2.00 main journal rods from the small journal motors. They turn some great RPMs!!!

Thanks for all the replys. I am doing a replica 69 TA but am swamped in ugly bodywork part of the thing. Just thinking ahead right now. I went to the Historic races at the Larry Miller Sportspark and looked at a couple of Camaros that raced. They were a little far beyond Historic cars as far as interior, brakes, suspension, etc...and I was wondering if they used 302's. I looked on the SVRA website and it lists their engines as 302's. I can't imagine they can do a bunch of races each year and have to go looking for parts for their engines when they lose one.

I think EGGE is making new 302 pistons so you may look at them too...

I never did hear if Badger sarted making them again or not. They were supposed to but the last time I tried to check their web site, it was still under construction and for like a year or three??????????????

Wiseco makes pistons 11:1 out of the box.

I've thought of running 6.25" long rods and 6" rod 350 pistons too, but am having a problem finding inexpensive 6.25" long SJ rods altho they are out there.

You could run a 6" Eagle SIR SJ rod with an OTS SRP piston with a 1.519" CH.

I really like the idea of using true -5 cc flat-top custom pistons w/ 6.25" long rods, .015" thick shims and the 50 cc Powerhouse heads to come up w/ right at 10.9 to 1 CR for a little 306 motor!

Sucker should run on 87 octane pee...
