Joel.. I would be concerned that the seller is a Corvette dealer but he doesn't show the engine pad stamp or address it. He also doesn't show the trim tag. It has obvious things wrong like the "Caution fan" sticker and the Demco ring installed on the air cleaner in a way I have never seen. I have seen in another thread where you are looking for a Z or a SS. I would be patient and look for a car with either good paperwork or orig engine. What is your price range for a car ? Can you buy a done car or do you need a project ?

Great looking car!
I would say that it will bring 60k even with non matching #'s. That is if it is a true Z.
I still find it funny that all of these restored Z28's are always fully loaded with options and typically have low original miles.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Charlie, what is a Demco ring? Is that the rubber seal? I'm not sure what my price range is. I need to sell a 62 Corvette to be able to afford anything of quality.

Ideally I'd like to keep things as inexpensive as possible, and spend no more than 50k for a good quality, genuine car. Is that even realistic for a 396 or Z? For that kind of money should I expect the original engine to be present?

I am ok with projects but am not interested in a car that would be considered a basket case.

rear end is dated later (May) than the car (Jan) so it's not the orignal BU coded rear. I dont know if this one could be proved real w/o paperwork.
It's not worth $50K, IMO with what I see thats missing or incorrect in the pics.

The really nice clones are going for 50k. The real deal for 50k will need some work of some sort. For 50k I would stick with a super nice 396 #'s car. These Z's are just outrageous in price right now. I may know if a black Z for sale. PM me if you are interested...

I was in your "exact same" boat about 8 months ago. It was a nightmare trying to find a quality 69 Z28. I was actually in search or a 396 car or Z when I found what I have now.

I'm about a half hour away and could look at it if your interested.
I've heard of them before & have driven past their shop but don't
know much about them. They do sell other muscle cars. I've seen
Mopars in their lot & web site. Let me know
Mike

Unreal,
Well a Z06 is a pretty nice fast car. But it sure is not as fun as these old musclecars or should I say camaro's....LOL!!!!
