Rear driveshaft seal leaking

69 Camaro, Saginaw 3-speed, the rear seal on the tranny where the driveshaft connects is leaking. Can I just pop out the seal and press in a new one after removing the driveshaft and draining the tranny or is there more to it then that?

You should be able to . Once you have it out check for wear on the slip yoke . If its ok you should can then install the new seal and your good to go .

No need to drain the tranny. You will lose just a little when you pull the seal out but it won't be much.

no need to drain like patrick said. just raise the back of the car ( dont rely on just a jack when your under the car !!) after you pull the seal wipe the inside of the trannie were the seal goes with laquer thinner put a SMALL film of silicone sealer with your finger on where you wiped with the laquer thinner tap the seal in. put some lube on the rubber part of the seal with you finger lube up your yoke slide it in easy without damaging your new seal and presto your done no leaks.:hurray:
